The following research will cover current external communication devices, how the devices fit into our society and their attempts to make our lives easier by enabling us to be almost fully mobile. Later, I will examine, through research and educated speculation, possible ties to integrated marketing communication and external communication devices. Could these devices be a form of “new” media within the array of marketing and advertising vehicles? Or, is this a dream, or just a hope, in an age when old media has been fully exhausted and the world is thirsty for new media in hopes to catch that perfect target consumer?
